We have made arrangements for hotel rooms in 2 different venues, the DeLaMar and the Sheraton in Stamford.

We have reserved 20 rooms at the Sheraton at 700 East Main Street in Stamford for $99 a night.  They have set up a website to make room reservations for that weekend.   You can click on the link to our personal website Greenwich High School Class of 1964 Reunion.  You can make, change or cancel reservations for the reunion weekend on this site.

The DeLaMar has also given us a discount on rooms.  Their rates for the weekend are:

Plans for the Reunion weekend are finally shaping up.  We have decided on the locations for both Friday and Saturday nights.

Friday night, May 30, 2014, will be an informal evening at Zody’s 19th Hole at Brennan (formerly Hubbard Heights) Municipal Golf Course in Stamford.  The time is 6 to 10 pm.  There will be beer, wine and sodas included, as well as enough hors d’oeuvres to pass as dinner, and a cash bar for those who wish it.   We had lunch there this week, and the food was good, the room pleasant, and the price right.  It was, once we saw it, an easy choice.  It will be a good way to relax after a day of travel, or just start the weekend with an evening with old friends.  The price for beer, wine, hors d’oeuvres for the evening will be $30 per person.

Saturday night, May 31, will be a buffet dinner from 6:30 to 10:30.  We have chosen the DeLaMar, formerly the Showboat, the same site as our 30th reunion, but thoroughly renovated.  We will still have the view, the waterfront,  good food, and, most of all, good company.  The price is a good one compared to the other venues we looked at.  Dinner will be a buffet, with a cash bar.  The menu is still to be determined, but we wanted to lock in the venue now.  The price for the evening will be $130 per person if you send reservations in before April 15, 2014.  After that date, it will be $145 per person.

We will set up a way to sign up online, and then mail a check to our treasurer.  We really need to get an idea of how many people will attend!  For now, send me an email and let me know if you’re seriously interested, sort of interested, or would rather not come.  We would love to see as many classmates attend as possible.  We haven’t done this for 20 years — come check out the guy/girl you had a crush on — see how well we’ve all aged, just like fine wines and cheeses — not that any of us look more than a week older than we did in 1964!  Come listen to music of our youth, chat with old friends and catch up with our classmates.

We have a couple of ideas centered around the “Who are they now?” idea.  We’d like to pair a current headshot (or something that we can crop to a head and shoulders shot) of you now with the picture from the yearbook. It might be an informal contest or a gallery of pictures or maybe something else; but we need current photos of YOU!

You can email the photos or a link to an online photo to admin@ghs64reunion.org and we’ll take it from there. Be sure to include your name and current location so we can pair you up with the right yearbook photo.

Thanks for participating! It should be a lot of fun.
